Mansfeld-Kehat Architects Ltd.

The firm has been active since 1935, when it was founded by the late Prof. Al. Mansfeld, and is firmly in the forefront of the architectural field in Israel. Mansfed-Kehat has designed and completed numerous large-scale projects in the highest standard of execution.

Mansfeld–Kehat is owned and managed as a partnership between Architect Michael Mansfeld and Architect Haim Kehat. Both partners have joined the firm in 1974 and became partners in 1980.

The firm’s work ranges from the architectural design of individual buildings to the master planning and design of large-scale urban complexes. The firm has conceived, designed, and built projects that include town and neighborhood planning, museums and cultural facilities, office buildings, residential buildings, education and sport facilities, public and commercial complexes etc.

Among it’s best-known work are The Israel Museum, Jerusalem; The Social Sciences Faculty Building, and the Art Center and School of the Art Building, Haifa University; Israel Electric Company headquarters, Haifa; Regional Hospital, Naharia; Central Carmel Cultural Center, Haifa; Layout and development plan for the Tel Hai College campus, Upper Galilee; Ramat Alon neighborhood, Haifa.

Mansfed-Kehat has designed and completed numerous large-scale projects in the highest standard of execution and service to our customers.

The firm has an iso-9001 international Quality certification since 1997.

Staff

Mansfeld-Kehat numbers some 16 designers and team members. This office size ensures the firm’s ability to handle complex and large-scale projects, on one hand, and professional review and personal contact, on the other hand. The entire firm works together as a team, integrating veterans with younger personnel, innovation and excellence together with knowledge and experience. The partners are personally involved in large projects, accompanying the team responsible for each project .

Design of Complex structures

Among complex architectural projects that Mansfeld – Kehat  is currently designing and constructing are hospitals including laboratories, museums, high-tech offices, performance halls, universities, etc.

The work on complex and prestigious buildings involves using up-to-date technologies in important areas such as lighting, acoustics and electromechanical systems including communications, conveyance, air-conditioning, and similar systems, as well as exposure to a high level of architectural design and detailing.

Design of public complexes

Mansfeld–Kehat  has broad experience in the design and construction of public buildings – such as universities, colleges, cultural centers and auditoriums.  In those projects the work process started from drawing conceptual master plans and city outline plans that were later devloped into detailed construction and interior design plans.

The firm has invested in research and academic level work over the years in order to develope the design potential and to increase the knowledge in planning open-ended design systems as a solution to issues of growth and change.

Master and Urban Planning

Mansfeld–Kehat  has a separate department for statutory planning, preparing national outline plans, city outline plans and local and site plans.  The partners find that their experience designing and constructing a wide range of residences, public and commercial projects improves the quality of the firm’s statutory planning and enhances the quality of their execution.  The  firm has accumulated a wealth of knowledge in statutory issues in all their aspects and is proud of the relationships of trust that were formed over the years with various planning institutions.

A large number of projects are commissioned by different national and municipal authorities, and other are commisioned by private compamies.

Residential Development

Mansfeld–Kehat  is responsible for the construction of thousands of residential units in Israel.  The firm is regularly involved in the design of residence buildings for various entrepreneurial bodies and groups, some of whom the firm has been working with for many years.

The firm accumulated experience in the various aspects of residential development  - programmatic and marketing aspects as well as technical issues. Throughout the years the firm has experienced in all the variety of residential building types: prestigious residences, terraced residential complexes, law rise high density neighborhood and high rise buildings involving inndustrialized construction.
