Tel Aviv 2000 – International Competition
Mansfeld-Kehat Architects had won the international planning competition "Tel Aviv 2000" arranged by the Tel Aviv municipality and the Israel Lands Authority, for the area surrounding the Arlozerov Railway Station at the center of the metropolis.
In the competition took part offices from all around the world and from Israel, among tham were Asebillo Josef from Barcelona, Viguier Jean Paul from Paris, Mecano from Holand, Moshe safdie, Moshe Zur, Mazur-First and Kolker Kolker Epstein from Israel.
The program includes a transportation terminal, a new railway station, a light trail station, 1000 apartments' offices and businesses, a new cultural center and public spaces. The plan comprises a total area of 416 dunams (100 acres) and a total built area of 1.25 nillion sqm (13,500,000 sqf)
Our firm proposed the TLV-LOOP, a pentagonal avenue ring, embracing buildings and connecting the neighboring cities. The urban presence of the Loop makes it a stepping-stone for the transportation of the area into a pedestrian-oriented place.
